I can't believe that I am writing this.

She was fine a month ago, even 3 weeks ago, and then she went downhill very rapidly, and we don't yet know
why.

She died in my arms on Saturday morning, here at home, on her own terms which is how Tally did everything.

Tally was my 2nd Gordon, but she was my first of so many things.  All her titles, I had never put titles on a dog
before.  Some of them were very difficult, like her CH.  Oh how she hated the show ring, and she hated for me
to stack her, but let her do it herself, well, she could hit a free stack and stop the judge in his tracks.

We then moved onto her JH, which she took to as the true Highland Lass she is.  Birds were her passion and
you could see the passion in her eyes when she knew we were going hunting.  She got her JH in 5 tries.

Agility, well, that was totally my fault as a novice trainer.  The weave poles were our nemisis.  But we overcame
them, and she got her NA and NAJ titles very easily with several first places to boot.  And with that NA came
her GSCA BBB Award!

Tally is the first and so far only Brentwood Gordon to have achieved that award.  Pam and Chuck were very
proud of her.

Oh, did we try for our CD, but we just couldn't do it, Tally was too much of a clown.  As the heeling pattern went
on and I didn't say anything encouraging to her, well, she thought it was time to again, do it her way.  She
would bark at me, then bounce up and down to try to get my attention, then she would nip my behind!  There
wasn't an obed trial that there weren't people laying in the aisles laughing after watching Tally.

But don't ever laugh at her!  Oh no!  You can laugh with her, but if you laughed at her you would get a right
and proper scolding.  At an obedience class, the instructor was using Tally for a demo, and she did something
wrong, everyone started laughing, she stopped, looked over at everyone, ran over to them all the while woo
wooing at them.

I will never again take a bath with my Guardian there.  She would position herself on the bathroom floor facing
the doorway, protecting me.

I will also never again have to hide my toothbrush.

She gave me my first litter of puppies.  The Start litter, there were 4.  Two in that litter are Champions and two
are very much loved by their owners as CH couch potatoes!

She also gave me my second litter, a whopping 9!  In that litter I got my first WD at a Specialty!  My first
BISweep and BOSweeps at NODROG, brother and sister, what fun that was.  My first UKC Best in Show came
from that litter too!

She was a good Mom, though a stern Mom.  And she whelped beautiful puppies all the while holding her
quacking duck in her mouth.

She was there with me when Ghunnyr died.  She was my last link to my Ghun.

I will miss her till the day I see her again.

She is now running through the purple heather with Ghunnyr, ears flowing, scenting for quail.
